Miss Prints and the Fisherman’s Tale

This piece illustrates the bond the artist shares with his father through lessons in screen printing and fishing. All the items are tied together by fishing line. The tangles and cut lines represent the loss of memories and confusion brought on by alzheimers. Each photograph represents a different memory in time held dear by both the dad and his son. The entire piece is framed by a screen used for screen printing, which was a shared love by both. The blue ink represents tears of grief and sorrow from the severed ties caused by the illness.Though this piece emphasizes loss, it also represents lessons and skills taught from one generation to the next. By learning from those that came before us, we allow our loved ones to live on through us.
