Flushing Pheasant

When pheasants were introduced in South Dakota from China my grandma had a pair released on her childhood farm. She and her brother were protective of the birds and she was sad when pheasant hunting began.

My dad was a state game warden and opening pheasant day was like a national holiday in our house! The fabric I used is leftover from a flannel shirt my mom sewed for my dad.
