Colorado Dreaming

Colorado Dreaming is inspired by my recent vacation to the Centennial State.  This trip was transformative, for myself & my family.

After a full few days of packing & driving, the 3 of us (myself, my boyfriend, and his daughter) spent a week hiking through breathtaking mountain trails, immersing ourselves in the beauty of a pristine wild scene.

After passing clusters of Columbines & fields of wild Sunflowers, we came upon a mountaintop lake - bursting with Rainbow & Brown Trout.  It was here that my now fiancé pulled out a ring box and told me to look at the pretty rock he found.

He asked if I would like to marry him, a question he had jokingly asked so many times before, now had a serious tone to it - and a ring to match.

Not only were the woods in full transition; from the tail end of spring to the first flutters of fall, but, our little family of three was also coming upon a new transition....

Once, it was him & his daughter, with myself tagging along.  Now, the three of us are becoming whole.  Transitioning into a new life together, bound to one another through a promise to love one another through thick & thin.

Sometimes, the universe gives you exactly what you need.

This painting attempts to share the things I can't verbalize, the excitement & gratitude I have for the life that my family is transitioning into.
